Tuesday brought disheartening news for the Minnesota Vikings as they announced that rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy will sit out the entirety of the 2024 NFL season. McCarthy initially reported to the team's facility on Monday, complaining of knee soreness after what appeared to be his routine preseason activities. According to Vikings Head Coach Kevin O'Connell, "Some kind of routine soreness that a lot of guys after their first preseason game sometimes come in with, and it was something we wanted to be smart about."
